Welcome to V-Camp. Our goal is to educate, motivate, empower and guide campers to athletic development and self-reliance.

This page will continually be filled with links to our curriculum.

Instruction or drill features will be 5-8 minutes in length. Above reviewing the feature, the camper should head out and take on the challenges.

For live interactive features, you will receive a Zoom link. The camper should simply click on the link, follow any additional directions and enjoy live interaction with a NFL Alumni player development expert.

Friday, August 14 Schedule

SESSION 1
*Agility: Def Back Direction Change + Lateral Shuffle Catch
*Agility: Core strength and hands, sit up and catch
Goal: Get loose with light 5-minute jog. Execute 10 good “Direction Change” sequences using 6 markers. Do 10 sets of 10 catches for “Lateral Shuffle and Catch.” Do as many sit up catches as possible in three sets (maximum 12 per attempt).

SESSION 2
*Quarterback, Drill, “The Dance” – Step and Throw
Goal: Work 10 forward, backward reps and then 10 back-foot slides with transition to throwing motion. Next, do “the dance,” for 5-10 seconds and make 50 accurate throws.

SESSION 3
*Wide Receiver, Drills, The Arcade, the Pole and Belly Arch Catch
Goal: Do 5 sets of 10 arcade drills, 7 sets of 10 pole catches and 3 sets of 8 belly catches.
*Quarterback: Removing the Feet to Learn Torso Power
GOAL: Throw 30 balls without feet and throw 30 balls “without feet/opposite shoulder.”

SESSION 4
Lunch — Fluids
NFL Flag Football National Championship: age 13-14
Top Runs, Pop Warner 2019 Playoffs

SESSION 5
*Wide Receiver, Drill, High Point
*Wide Receiver, Drill, Find the Ball
*Wide Receiver, Drill, Catch and Protect

Catch 12 High Point balls, 24 Find the ball and 16 “catch and protect.”

SESSION 6
*Final Throwing Contest: 3 V-Campers
Set up a target — a tree, a tired, a garbage can or a buddy and throw 10 strikes in 20 tries.

Final Goal: No Fear, No Envy, Be Kind.

Thursday, August 13 Schedule

*Agility: Five Levels of Jump Rope
Goal: 5 reps for speed for 30 seconds; 5 reps of 40 jumps without a miss; 5 reps of 10-yard forward/backward (3 lengths); 5 reps of 5-yard side to side travels (3 side to side)

SESSION 2
*Quarterback, Drill, One Knee Throws, 5 Teaching Points
*Quarterback, Drill, Game Situation Throws and Decisions
Goal: Make 40 perfect “one knee” throws: 20 throw of 5-7 yards and 20 throws of 10 to 15 yards. Make 30 throws to active moving target with quick release.

SESSION 3
*Agility: The “L” Agility Challenge + Timing
Goal: Do 8 sets of the “L Agility” drill for form and speed.
*Running Back:: Drills and Technique, Hops, Hop, Cut and Open Moves
Goal: 7 reps of the 3 perfect form RB agility drills and protect the ball!

SESSION 4

Defensive Backs, Drill – Read and Pick 6 Drill.
Goal: Working both left and right side, defend 16 routes.

*Agility Drills 7 and 8
*Agility: The “L” Agility Challenge + Timing
Goal: Do 3 reps of Agility 7 and 3 sets of agility 8. Run 8 reps of the “L” Agility test — 60 seconds rest, time yourself for 4 more. Beat your best time. Concentrate on form — pump arms.

SESSION 2
*Quarterback, Drill, No Feet Throws, Learn Torso Power
Goal: Throw 30 balls without feet and throw 30 balls “without feet/opposite shoulder.”
*Running Back, Lesson, Fundamentals and Ball Protection
Goal: While stationary, transfer or roll ball from left to right side with perfect ball security.

SESSION 3
*Defensive Back Lesson 3: Change of Direction, Hi Point & Rake
*Defensive Back Lesson 4: The Press Technique
Goal: 12 perfect form techniques on back peddle, pivot and go. Concentrate on low back end during back pedal, quick feet, arm pump, and use arms in transition to forward run.

*Sports Science: Football Kinematics

SESSION 5
*Quarterback: Opposite Shoulder Throws on the Run
Goal: Throw 40 balls: 20 rolling to “opposite shoulder” and 20 rolling to strong (open shoulder) — and make accurate throw.

Tuesday, August 11

ZOOM V-CAMP NFL ALUMNI PLAYER HUDDLE:
Garry Cobb, Linebacker, Philadelphia Eagles
Also…Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions. Garry Cobb played college football at the University of Southern California. He is currently a Philadelphia Eagles analyst for Fox affiliate WTXF-TV. He is known for his service in urban youth and honored in 2002 by then-President George W. Bush for his work as a mentor to troubled youngsters. He is a member of the Board of the Caring People Alliance of Philadelphia, which oversees a number of city community centers and the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Philadelphia.

SESSION 1

Goal: Execute Agility each drill challenge 4 times, seeking perfect form and execution. Wait 30-60 seconds between each repetition.

*Defensive Back Lesson: Back Peddle, Acceleration and Transition
Goal: 15 good back peddle and turns with perfect form + 8 or more consecutive minutes of jump rope, seeking to do 50+ consecutive jumps without a miss.

SESSION 3
*Wide Receiver, Lesson, Stance and Snap
*Wide Receiver, Drill, Good Hands with Tennis Ball
Goal: Have 2 technique questions ready for Super Bowl Winner Stephen Baker — a great NFL Wide Receiver.

SESSION 4

SESSION 5
*Agility Drills 1 and 2 Hurdles
*Wide Receivers, Drills, Cap ‘n Tuck, Drag Feet, Jerry Rice, One Hand Catch
Goal: Do 6 reps of Agility Hurdle 1 and 2 technique;
Make 30 catches — “catch, cap and tuck,” 15 “drag the feet,” try 10 “Jerry Rice attempts (they are hard), 10 left hand only hand catches and 10 right hand only catches and 10 tap to other hand catches.

Goal: Use cups or sidewalk chalk or any markers for foot target. Execute each drill challenge 6 times, seeking perfect form and execution. Wait 30-45 seconds between each repetition.

SESSION 2
*Quarterback, Lesson, Grip, Up and Away
*Quarterback, Drill, Grip, Up, Shoulder Shelf and Throw
Goal: Throw 40 or more passes — concentrating on the key teaching points and seeking perfect form.

SESSION 3
*Wide Receiver, Lesson, Catching Fundamentals — Expanded
*Wide Receiver, Drill, Good Hands with Tennis Ball
Goal: Catch 30 footballs, concentrate on all fundamental. Train your eyes to follow the ball and muscles to secure the ball. Catch 50 tennis balls using different angle challenges.

BREAK 1
*Lunch Break – Fluids
*Sports Science: Throwing Perfect Spiral and More

SESSION 4
*Quarterback, Drill, 1 Knee Throws, 5 Teaching Points
*Wider Receiver, 3 Essential Routes: Squirrel, Hitch and Slant
GOAL: Throw 40 or more “perfect form and accurate” 10 yard passes from one knee. Catch 300 Bounce Back Balls, 150 with both hands, 75 with left hand and 75 with the right hand.
